Hawaiian pizza is a controversial meal — for ones, it is super delicious and to others, it is an unsuccessful combination to say the least. Pizza Hut, a brand of my favourite pizza restaurants, just released for the very first group of people the protective lip balm with smell and taste of pineapple pizza. Is it a good idea? Are you up for it?
Protective lips balms in all sorts of odd versions slowly become a standard in the cosmetic industry. Manufacturers try to draw various clients and that is how we get surprising editions with, for example, the smell of bubble gum, pretzels or burger, with a taste of chocolate or fruits, even fried chicken (seriously — once upon a time KFC released sun screen in such version).
Hawaiian pizza lip balm perfectly fits in this trend. It was created for all of you who love this dish, by Pizza Hut for The International Kissing Day. For the time being it was available only in some pizza restaurants, but the interest was so great that it will probably hit the regular sale.
Taste and smell of pizza
Proper aroma and scent were obtained by adding to standard lip balm ingredients such as basil oil, natural pineapple extract, smoke from the smoking chamber. Apart from this unusual components, lip balm has pretty regular composition. As you may expect it, it is not entirely natural product and the conditioning ingredients could be better. I would treat the pizza lip balm rather as a funny gadget than the cosmetic with actual skin care action.

Frankly speaking, I admire the Pizza Hut creativity, because even I couldn’t come up with such an idea and I’m known for my crazy initiatives. As far as I understand the use of food for conditioning purposes, because these often have many precious ingredients, I think this combination is more weird and misguided.
What do you gain by having a lip balm that tastes like Hawaiian pizza? At most, you will eat it faster and run out of it faster and you would have to buy more. This is all a financial benefit for Pizza Hut. However, on the other hand not so healthy for us, because such paraffin mix in large amounts can be harmful. I will have to pass on this cosmetic gadget. What about you?
